Virginia Counties

Virginia has 95 counties, each with its own Sheriff's Office and Circuit Court that handle police records. The Sheriff in each county keeps arrest logs, incident reports, and booking data. The Circuit Court Clerk holds criminal case files and court records. Police records requests go through the local Sheriff's Office or police department under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
